F&B operators at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar with terrace spaces facing the Dubai Fountain area are receiving rental support from Emaar Malls Management. This initiative comes in response to the fountain's temporary closure, a key attraction for visitors. The support includes a four-month rent waiver, spanning from June to September 2025, to mitigate the impact on foot traffic and terrace-based dining experiences.

The Dubai Fountain has been a significant draw for years, contributing to the popularity of these destinations. Emaar's decision reflects its commitment to long-term partnerships and assisting tenants during this transition. The market had anticipated such support, given the fountain's closure. The Dubai Mall, a globally recognized destination, welcomed 111 million visitors in 2024.

This rental assistance alleviates financial burdens and reinforces Dubai Mall's collaborative environment. George Kunnappally, Managing Director at Nando’s UAE, praised Emaar's proactive approach in supporting F&B partners. The Lake and Fountain-facing terraces have long been prized for their vibrant ambiance.

Emaar will also introduce new measures to enhance the visitor experience during the fountain's closure. These include the installation of 400 meters of digital screens along the promenade, designed to engage visitors and maintain footfall for retailers. This proactive approach underscores Emaar's dedication to supporting its tenants through evolving market conditions.
