Ras Al Khaimah is experiencing a surge in tourism, solidifying its position as a leading getaway destination in the UAE. In the first half of 2025, the emirate welcomed a record 654,000 tourists, marking a 6% year-on-year increase in arrivals and a 9% boost in tourism revenues. This growth is fueled by expanded international air connectivity, with new direct routes from countries like Poland, Romania, and Uzbekistan contributing significantly to the rise in visitor numbers.
The expansion of hotel infrastructure is a key factor in Ras Al Khaimah's tourism growth. The emirate plans to more than double its room count by 2030, with several high-profile hotel projects confirmed in H1 2025, including Four Seasons Resort & Residences and Fairmont Al Marjan Island. Furthermore, new partnerships with major online travel agencies (OTAs) and initiatives like inter-Emirate itineraries are broadening the emirate's tourism appeal and market reach.
Events also play a crucial role in attracting visitors and boosting brand visibility. The RAK Half Marathon, UAE Tour, and DP World Tour's RAK Championship are among the events that draw large crowds. Notably, MICE and wedding tourism revenues saw a significant 36% year-on-year jump, driven by international incentive groups and destination weddings.
With a clear long-term vision and impressive short-term results, Ras Al Khaimah is strategically scaling its tourism ambitions. Supported by infrastructure development, enhanced connectivity, and global brand partnerships, the emirate is poised for continued growth and success in the tourism sector.
