The former Dubai Zoo site in Jumeirah 1 is set to be transformed into a residential and lifestyle destination by developer Shamal. The low-rise development will feature 90 residential units, blending heritage and modernity with clean geometry and natural materials. These units will be available in Dubai's residential leasing market. The original zoo closed in late 2017 and relocated to Dubai Safari Park.
The new project will incorporate shared courtyards, a central park, and preserved mature trees to maintain the existing landscape. The design aims to harmonize with the surrounding Jumeirah neighborhood, offering warmth and character. According to Abdulla Binhabtoor, CEO of Shamal, the project is a reimagining of a beloved landmark, designed for modern living, connection, and a grounded lifestyle.
Site preparation is complete, with construction expected to commence soon. The Jumeirah area is a premium residential district experiencing significant redevelopment and new project launches.
