Nakheel has awarded a Dh527 million contract to Al Nasr Contracting Company for infrastructure works on Island B at Dubai Islands. This marks a significant step in the development of one of Dubai's largest coastal projects. The contract encompasses essential infrastructure, including roads, utilities, and drainage systems, designed to support future residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects on the island. The project will also integrate with the district cooling network and align with existing infrastructure on Island A.

The infrastructure work is crucial for establishing the foundation for large-scale development on Island B. This ensures that essential services and connectivity are in place before vertical construction begins. According to Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, this contract demonstrates progress in transforming Dubai Islands into a fully integrated destination.

Dubai Islands, spanning 18.6 square kilometers across five interconnected islands, is planned to introduce approximately 57 kilometers of coastline. The development aims to accommodate over 231,000 residents in approximately 49,000 homes, alongside resorts, marinas, and retail offerings. Island B is a central component of this masterplan, requiring comprehensive infrastructure to support its future phases. The islands will be connected to the mainland via three bridges linked to the Al Shindagha Corridor, with convenient access to Dubai International Airport and Downtown Dubai.
