Sharjah City Municipality has announced a 50% discount on the settlement of unattested lease contracts, effective from November 1 to December 31, 2025. This initiative, approved by the Sharjah Executive Council, aims to ease financial burdens for residents and investors. Landlords and tenants can regularize their contracts during this two-month window without incurring any fines or penalties.
The discount applies to all types of lease contracts, including residential, commercial, industrial, and investment agreements, that expired before the 2024 Sharjah Lease Regulation Law. Beneficiaries can complete the attestation process through authorized centers or the "Aqari" digital platform. The discount will be automatically applied within the system during the specified period.
This initiative provides a significant opportunity for both parties to rectify their contract status and settle outstanding fees. Importantly, there will be a full waiver of all penalties and fines for delays in attesting contracts from previous years. After December 31, 2025, fees will revert to their original values.
The municipality emphasizes the importance of annual lease contract attestation as a legal safeguard for both landlords and tenants, ensuring transparency and facilitating efficient dispute resolution. Residents and businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their rental relationships operate legally and transparently.
