Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum oversaw the signing of an agreement for new affordable housing projects in Dubai. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, and Wasl Group are collaborating on the initiative. The agreement aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Affordable Housing Policy.
The Affordable Housing Policy aims to create thriving communities, support economic sectors, diversify employment, and meet diverse resident needs. It focuses on providing quality housing, connectivity to the city center, access to essential services, and adherence to the ‘20-Minute City’ concept.
The initial phase will encompass six areas, including Me'aisem 1, Al Twar 1, and Al Qusais Industrial Area 5, spanning approximately 1.46 million square meters. This phase will deliver over 17,000 residential units.
These projects aim to offer affordable rental options, optimize land use, and develop housing models tailored to diverse community needs, specifically targeting skilled professionals from various sectors.
