The Dubai Land Department (DLD) is expanding its Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme to boost Emirati participation in the real estate sector. The program has already surpassed its annual qualification target by over 180%, with qualified Emirati brokers facilitating transactions exceeding AED 500 million since its launch. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 2033, aiming to integrate Emirati talent into a crucial economic sector.
The program offers specialized training in collaboration with accredited institutions, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. Upon completion, participants receive a "National Broker" license, valid for three years, allowing them to operate within Dubai's regulatory framework. The DLD has also licensed 231 new brokerage companies, marking a significant step in the sector's Emiratisation efforts.
To broaden participation, the DLD is seeking proposals from real estate developers and brokers to create an integrated ecosystem. This collaborative approach aims to provide high-quality training and employment opportunities for UAE nationals. Over ten stakeholder gatherings have been held, involving 71 strategic partners, including developers, brokerage firms, and training institutes, to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Furthermore, the DLD will introduce a points-based incentive system for brokerage firms that hire UAE nationals, encouraging employment within the sector. The initiative also includes allocating a percentage of real estate projects to program participants and supporting their placement in active brokerage firms, enhancing long-term employment prospects.
